Global Penn State

The Global Penn State is anchored on two principles: Global Citizenship and Global Leadership.

The University is dedicated to educating the next generation of global citizens and leaders by providing students with diverse opportunities to experience world cultures and helping students develop a global perspective. Becoming a global citizen requires a strong understanding of the major challenges that all citizens of the world share.

Similarly, in order to become global leaders, institutions and countries must actively contribute to solving the world's challenges. Penn State is committed to partnering with institutions around the world to help find answers to major global challenges such as poverty, environmental sustainability, food security, health, climate change, energy security, and social justice.

The University Office of Global Programs (UOGP) is charged with bringing together the many impressive international activities taking place at Penn State. This page and the Global Reach Portal serve as a central repository for information about Penn State's global initiatives.

We invite you to explore the global reach of our many international programs and outreach.
